TRANSPORTATION

The access to the Port is actually possible by a flyover sited at the southern part of Molo Sud which directly connects it to the road network (SS16 Adriatica e A14 Bologna-Taranto); the distance from the Port to the highway toll booth is only 4,5 Km and his position avoids to drive through the city centre.

The Railway Station FF.SS. is sited near the Port and connected with the commercial area, consequently to Nuova Banchina Molo Nord and to COMMERCIAL QUAY.

WAREHOUSING

Our Company is also able to offer warehouse services within the areas of the Port (8500mq. in concession also in custom status).

More in detail:

• Bulk warehouse with a  capability of 15900 m³ available for private custom warehouse for goods in free circulation status and duty suspended;
• Outside areas in concession in the quay of 8000 mq;
• Own outside area of 18500 mq including a railway connection to Zona Industriale Ortona, distance from the Port 6 Km, operative within 2006.

LOGISTIC

According to the quays availability and to the actual port traffic the waiting times of incoming ships should be the following:

• SHIPS WITH PESCAGGIO MINOR THAN 6 METRES

No waiting times: berth in day hours and immediate operability;

• SHIPS WITH PESCAGGIO BIGGER THAN 6 METRES

length minor than 120/130 metres: no waiting times
length bigger than 120/130 metres: to value in advance to delete or reduce waiting times;

The obtainable rate of Port of Ortona, on the basis of  the former experiences, are the following:

• 1000 tons/gg = directly on trucks (average between full ship and hold cleaning);
• 1500 tons/gg = with loading from the quay.
