11 million from the PNRR for quayside and seabed
The tender has been announced by the ADSP of the central Adriatic Sea for the assignment of the consolidation works of a section of the quay of the port of Ortona and the works on the seabed.
The interventions covered by the tender are aimed at the redevelopment and strengthening of port structures so that they are efficient and suitable for maritime commercial traffic.
An 11 million euro contract falling within the PNRR funds, fundamental for the strengthening of the Abruzzo port which, already today, represents a strategic node for the national and international traffic of goods, from east to west and from north to south.
Clear times for an intervention of great strategic importance
The timing for the realization of the project must also be specified in the tender: all activities must in fact be completed within a maximum time of 540 days, of which 90 days to complete the executive design, starting from the service order of the RUP, and 450 days to complete the planned building works, starting from the date of the delivery report of the same.
The timing must be respected exactly to respect the timetable defined by the PNRR and the deadline for completing the contract, currently set for 31 March 2026.
Extension of the quay, works on the seabed and electrification for Ortona
The Port System Authority will also create, again in the port of Ortona, the infrastructure to power the self-propelled cranes operating on the North pier and on the Riva quay through electrification, with an investment of 2 million euros linked to cold ironing. For this intervention - the aim of which is to eliminate the consumption of fossil fuels that power the cranes themselves, reducing emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere, as well as noise pollution - an executive deadline of June 2026 is expected.
